Sleeping Bunnies FREE ANIMATION!

Free Video!
Here is an animation with a duet version of the music.  Enjoy!  You can sing along as you watch and then try the actions below.  Next come up with some of your own verses, for example kangaroos hopping, crocodiles snapping, birdies flapping, froggies hopping  or elephants stamping.  Make sure your animal actions are as energetic as possible!  Afterwards, you can learn to play the song by downloading the free sheet music for guitar and piano with lyrics (coming soon), and since this is also a colouring page, you can colour in the sleeping bunnies too.  Finally, you could learn the duet part or compose your own.

Lyrics
See the sleeping bunnies sleeping 'til it's nearly noon,
Shall we try and wake them with a merry tune?
They're so still,
Are they ill?

Shhhhhhh!

WAKE UP NOW!

Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop,
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop,
Hop little bunnies, hop, hop, hop,
Hop, hop, hop, hop, hop!

Further Activities

This is an excellent action song.  Get your child to lie down for the first verse, and then they should get up and jump up and down at 'Wake up now!'.  My daughter will do this for ages and especially enjoys jumping up and down on the bed.

I have also found it useful for getting her to lie down at bed time.  My husband couldn't believe it one night when he couldn't get her to lie down.  I came in and started to sing this song and she lay down immediately!  Quite quickly she was ready to go to sleep.

You can change the time from noon to '1', '2', '3' etc to teach children numeracy and how to tell the time.

This song is perfect for playgroups, rhyme times, music classes  and kids' parties.  Children get very excited when the leader says 'Lie down bunnies!'.
