Ballads for Christmas

The following lesson ideas are suitable for Middle School, Secondary School, High School, KS3 children; including songs and animations, poetry analysis and writing, music analysis, art projects, documentary/film-making and more.

The lessons ideas are based around eight animations and songs, which the children can watch and learn to sing. The songs can be accompanied by piano or harp. The sheet music is available to view and purchase here.

The poetry in the animations is from all around the world, including a Canadian Christmas Hymn about Indindigenous Wendat Huron people of North America, Pilgrim's in Mexico, an Eskimo Mother's Song, and poems from the UK from different eras including the First World War.
